Operations Trainee - Trade and Database Services (12 months)
Position 1 - Corporate Actions & Transaction Processing Trainee
Responsibilities:
• Review and investigate daily price movements, suspended and stale price securities to ensure fair value of securities.
• Process corporate actions events notifications, which involves liaising with the fund managers, ensuring completeness of the instructions and handling queries
• Create and maintain security master records and handles stock availability queries
Technical Skills and Competencies the trainee will learn:
• Acquire product knowledge and have a good understanding on pricing methodologies and corporate actions events for different financial instruments, including derivatives
• Opportunity to learn and have hands-on experience on the usage of the various systems that are commonly used in the Finance industry, such as Bloomberg and Markit systems
• Develop interpersonal and communication skills as the trainee will have plenty of opportunities to communicate with internal and external stakeholders such as Fund Managers, Custodians and external pricing vendors
• Develop organization and problem solving skills as the trainee takes on queries management and learns how to resolve issues independently
Position 2 - Trade Support Trainee
Responsibilities:
• Process Money Market instruments such as but not limited to Foreign exchange, FX options and Fixed Deposits, which involved matching with brokers, to settlement of the instructions and queries resolutions
• Perform day end completeness check to ensure all instructions from the front office are being captured and processed timely
Technical Skills and Competencies the trainee will learn:
• Acquire product knowledge and have a good understanding on the end-to-end processing flow of the various money market instruments
• Opportunity to learn and have hands-on experience on the usage of the various systems that are commonly used in the Finance industry, such as Bloomberg, SWIFT and Omgeo
• Understand the common terminologies and Jargons such as Settlement Standing instruction (SSI), overdrafts, back-valuation etc
• Develop interpersonal and communication skills as the trainee will have plenty of opportunities to communicate with internal and external stakeholders such as Dealers, Fund Managers, Custodians and Brokers
Requirements (Position 1 and 2):
• Graduated with a Bachelor Degree in 2019/2020
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Meticulous individual
