Tendering Engineer (Mechanical Equipment | Oil & Gas | West)

About the role:

Support Sales Managers for assigned sales areas in handling inquiries, and preparing tender bidding proposals. Liaison between pump factories and sales representatives/agents, the customer, and other company disciplinary groups. Sales activities and technical clarification meetings with customers are expected.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Attend to incoming inquiries, and prompt reply/acknowledgment to the customer (Quote or no quote).
• New business order entry and warranty notification.
• On-time preparation and submission of quotations/tenders to customers.
• Evaluate the customer pump application requirements to ensure that the company can
• Produce a pump product that will satisfy the customers’ needs for competitive pricing while providing an acceptable margin.
• Assist sales representatives/agents and customers in the selection of the proper pump hydraulic performance to satisfy the customer's requirements.
• Establishes or obtains accurate lead-times information from factories.
• Liaison with Sales Representatives/Agents and Factories.
• Attend customer technical and commercial meetings and assist agent/salesperson to close the orders (including proposal revisions, customer presentations, follow-up, and technical negotiation).
• Participates in the more demanding tendering jobs.

About you:

Education requirements: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or higher.

Job experience:

• Preferably with 1-2 years tendering experience/knowledge in pumps application or related complementary products to the general industry or chemical industry
• Experience in Centrifugal pumps, knowledge in mechanical seals; couplings, and motors
• Experience in sales/tendering in process or added advantage if knowledge of General Industry in PPI, Food, Metal, Fertilizer and Chemical Industries, Industrial Wastewater.
• Must be detail-oriented
• Must be able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Must be proactive.
