Jurong frog farm was established in 1981 by Mr Wan Bock Thiaw along Old Jurong Road, servicing the bustling predominantly chinese eateries by providing a reliable, high quality source of live and processed American Bullfrog. He relocated to a 1.1ha plot in the Lim Chu Kang Agrotechnology Park in 1993 developing a purpose built abattoir and quick freeze facility expanding his product offerings. In 1997, he began research on American Bullfrogs' Oviduct; more commonly known as Hashima. A commercially ready product Specially Selected Dried Snow Jelly was released 2 years later.
Mr Wan's youngest daughter, Chelsea joined the business in 2006. Sharing his passion for innovation, she carried out further research and developed a range of ready to consume hashima dessert served on the farm and worked with a local entrepreneurial vet to develop specialised pet food. Besides product diversification, she has keen interest in education. The present farm programmes are specially curated for different target audience and is constantly being reviewed to offer the best experience to the farm visitors.
The most recent partnership with a local biotech company also revalorised the American Bullfrog skin into a series of bioactive collagen range of cosmetic skincare.
At Jurong Frog Farm, our mission is to be innovative in frogs related products and to live up to our promise to deliver fresh and high quality farm produce reared naturally.
Successful applicant shall have a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop a network while promoting Farm activities to schools and Singapore-made novel cosmeceutical products to local and international clients.
Applicant shall be have the following responsibilities:
- Learn about and become conversant in our Companies products and unique methodologies to enhance marketability.
- Develop strategies to expand the reach of our products, alongside with the director
- Work with our team in creating marketing campaigns.
- Research target markets and identify suitable targets to develop business with, creating and maintaining a matrix of industry contacts.
- Assist in the management of Companies social media platforms.
- Brainstorm ideas and create unique sales pitches and presentations tailored to potential customers.
- Plan for, attend and take meeting minutes with potential customers, identifying their individual needs and opportunities for collaboration or product placement.
- Report on all assignments and deployments highlighting customer feedback, positive developments or opportunities for improvement with branding and merchandising
Applicant shall ideally have the following training and skill-set:
- Must not be squeamish about handling and working with frogs!
- Be studying a Business related course, preferably with a focus on marketing or mass communication.
- Be competent in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Have a pleasant, friendly and outgoing personality.
- Have confidence in speaking and presenting.
- Be self-motivated.
- Have an interest in advertising, social media and nature.
- Being able to use graphic design software such as Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
- Having an interest in Photography is a plus.
