Itinable is a mobile application for travel tip sharing. We believe that the connectivity we already share with our friends and community should allow us to collect travel inspiration and recommendations from those we trust, rather than trawl through online content in the search for personalized, trusted experiences. We are passionate about the idea that those around us reflect our personalities the best, and that we don't need to reduce our personalities to categories to find what we like when we travel. Our community has acknowledged how valuable the people they know are when it comes to recommending things to do and see in cities around the world, and we have created a platform to support everyone's groups and their tips.
Itinable is seeking an attentive, organized, and motivated Media / Design / Communications Intern to work on a flexible basis from home/own office. This intern will gain experience in design, marketing, and programming alongside the founders and directors. The intern will support in the development of marketing strategy, production of communications materials and multimedia products that are attractive, consistent, well written, and propel interest and help us acheive engagement and user growth. The opportunity will build his or her marketing and communications skills through hands on experience with many different areas of the organization. The ideal candidate is a media and digital enthusiast, with exceptional writing and design skills, a strong interest technology and travel, and demonstrated curiosity and/or experience in business affairs. This is a paid internship with a bi-weekly stipend.
MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Support in the development and design of digital, web, and print marketing materials;
- Presentation and report development and design, including PowerPoint;
- Copywriting and editing, including developing original content
- Utilizing online metrics tools (such as Google Analytics) to report on statistics for websites, social media sites, email campaigns, and online advertising;
- Provide both technical and editorial support, updating content, and publishing news stories;
- Community management on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn; and
- Assist with General administrative tasks as needed.
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Has or is working towards a Bachelor or Master’s degree in communications, international relations, economic development, business, or related field or has at least 6 months of relevant experience.
Desired Skills include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Intermediate Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) skills;
- Good Microsoft Office Skills;
- Strong grasp of social media management and campaign development;
- Experience with WordPress or web maintenance preferred;
- Understanding of web marketing and Google analytics;
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills;
- Strong writing and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional customer service and problem solving skills.
- High level of computer literacy and ability to learn new technology quickly;
- Experience in the travel sector is a plus;
- Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently and as a member of a team to meet program needs;
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required; and
- Availability to start working immediately
