We build technology ecosystems through unique. equity-free acceleration programmes that help IoT start-ups build their products, test the market and raise funds for future growth and corporates explore disruptive technologies. We take early-stage emerging technology start-ups and immerse them into vibrant local and global business ecosystems and global supply chain and investment networks. Our flagship hub in the UK is focused on Industrial Technologies. We are now also launching our Singapore hub with two exciting new programmes:

  • IoT Tribe SG: A 3-month acceleration programme located in Singapore with 6 month follow on support for ambitious deeptech startups from Europe, Singapore and beyond.
  • IoT Tribe SG Plus: A soft-landing programme for Singapore SMEs and scale-ups to do business in the UK and launch European operations, including preparation in Singapore a week-long immersion into the London business and tech ecosystem and access to office space.

We’re looking to recruit a driven individual that can take our outstanding programme to new heights and help establish IoT Tribe as the go-to business accelerator for SMEs and scaleups and deeptech start-ups, investors and corporates.

Job Description

The role is dynamic - we promise you will never have a dull moment. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities

  • Scouting for IoT start-ups In Singapore and participating in the selection process.
  • Being the first point of contact for prospective start-ups.
  • Help to keep the start-ups and founders motivated and on-track to achieve their objectives throughout the programme and beyond - we have a great alumni network!
  • Co-ordinating and expanding our network of mentors and ensure they are providing value to the start-ups and feel valued themselves.
  • Preparing the collateral for high-profile ecosystem events that can help to strengthen the technology landscape in Singapore and taking on the logistical tasks required.
  • Working with our Head of Partnerships to engage key ecosystem players and securing pilot opportunities for the start-ups.
  • Liaising with existing and prospective investors that can invest in the start-ups.


Skills, qualifications and experience required

Educated to degree level, you will have demonstrable experience in:

  • Digital marketing: including a thorough knowledge of the effective use of social media channels and producing newsletters and other digital marketing collateral with high engagement rates
  • Organising events: helping to identify speakers, coordinating inputs, attracting relevant attendees and providing on-site logistical support
  • Sourcing high-quality suppliers: identifying great partners and controlling quality
  • Managing communities: effectively managing members (eg mentor networks) and ensuring engagement.
  • You will also be passionate about working with start-ups and the latest technology advances and want to make a real difference to the tech ecosystem in Singapore.

You are also:

  • Self-motivated: you will report to a Head of Operations and support a Head of Partnerships, so it’s important you can organise and prioritize your own workload and successfully complete assigned tasks on time.
  • A team player: you can motivate others in a professional manner and lead by example.
  • An exceptional communicator: you know how to make attractive presentations and write blogs or articles that people will be genuinely interested in reading.
  • Digitally literate: you have a thorough basis of computer applications used in the start-up or technology business, such as Slack.

You will also be a firm believer that women play a valuable role in technology and, whether you are a man or a woman, strive to make sure that women participate in the programme as founders, mentors, investors and supporters.

Applicants are required to reside and work in Singapore, with travel expected.
