Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an enterprising individual who is confident and self-motivated with a can-do attitude to support and facilitate our corporate business development initiatives from the Singapore office. You should be adaptable and resourceful, and able to hit the ground running quickly with the support of your teammates.

As the Business Development Coordinator, you will also be responsible for supporting our Deeptech Accelerator programme, which accelerates the expansion of global deeptech startups into Asia, using Singapore as a beachhead. You will also work closely with the Head of Programmes and Head of Partnerships in Singapore to drive our corporate business development activities, including lead generation, preparation of proposals, and other activities.

 

Responsibilities

  • To scout, source and identify potential tech startups to join our programmes and community
  • To engage with prospects and share how the programme can fast-track their development plans
  • To facilitate all programme activities and liaise effectively with participants on the programme
  • To work closely with the Singapore team in identifying potential stakeholders to connect programme participants with
  • To jointly support our corporate business development initiatives in Singapore and across the Asia region
  • To generate leads of corporates and public agencies as part of our business development efforts
  • To support preparations of proposals for corporate partners and public tenders

 

What You Can Achieve

  • You will actively participate in the end-to-end planning and execution process of the Deeptech Accelerator programme and familiarise yourself with the communication dynamics at play when managing and interacting with programme participants
  • You will learn to generate leads and support business development efforts through the lens of a leading tech accelerator and ecosystem builder
  • You will have opportunities to work closely and network with founders and representatives of global deeptech startups with the ambition to expand into Singapore and across Asia
  • You will gain exposure to the technology landscape and startup ecosystem in the region

 

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Candidates should preferably have 1 to 2 years of work experience, ideal if in business development, marketing or partnerships
  • The ideal candidate should have attained a Bachelor’s Degree, or an educational qualification at an equal or higher level
  • Minimally, applicants should be capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders, and be able to multi-task while demonstrating attention to detail
  • Applicants should optimally possess great research skills and showcase ability to distill market trends into event topics
  • Applicants with familiarity in the technology space and startup ecosystem in Asia and Europe will be preferred
  • Applicants who are tech savvy and have a good grasp of best-in-class communication and collaboration tools will also ave an advantage during the shortlisting process
  • Applicants should be a firm believer that women can play valuable roles in technology and – regardless of your gender – strive to ensure fair participation of women in IoT Tribe's activities as founders, mentors, investors, among others
  • Singaporean citizenship or permanent residency (PR) will be required to be eligible for this opening
