Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Work closely with solution providers to assess their track & trace solution for Imerys cargos at sea. 

This solution will help Imerys Asia-Pacific improve its customer satisfaction by providing live info on their orders. It will also help the logistics and business planning teams in APAC to manage the flows of materials more efficiently.

This tool will be used by various stakeholders.

 

Screening phase:

  • Familiarise and possibly complete the list of providers that has already been established.

  • Attend Innovation events on Supply Chain, block chain for supply chain and develop a network to understand best practices and the ones relevant for Imerys. Search online different solutions and leverage from the BP&SC Vice-President’s network to understand how other MNCs are doing in Asia Pacific.

  • Liaise with key universities (e.g. NTU, NUS) to understand short-term trends and mega trends in data management related to logistics

  • Understand whether this tools would allow to access freight costs

  • Present a shortlist to the management with detailed assessment of each of the providers. 

  • Define KPIs to assess the providers during the pilot phase

Pilot Phase with a few providers:

  • After approval, formalize a timeline to lead the pilots.

  • Set the data feed from Imerys and facilitate the exchange with the providers

  • Monitor the pilots with the local teams

  • Pilot phase review according to the KPIs

Implementation phase if the pilot phase is successful:

  • Roll out the solution as per planning

  • Formalize a manual to use the tool, coordinate the training with the provider

  • appoint someone as the solution reference for each BA

  • Key interfaces: strong partnership to be built with (i) BP&SC from other Business Areas, (ii) Supply Chain, (iii) IT, (iii) Purchasing; (iv) leaders in innovation in logistics e.g. Bollore Blue, PSA Group, CMA-CGM, Solvay
