As part of the NYC YouthCorps Community Internship Program, we are looking for a Project Management Intern - Volunteer/Community Development to work on alongside an established client for a  Corporate Social Responsibility project to scale our impact.

Job Description

Brief Description:
As a Volunteer and Community Development Intern, you will work closely with our community development team to support and enhance volunteer programs. This role involves engaging with community members, coordinating events, and contributing to initiatives that promote positive social impact. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in community development, volunteer recruitment, and program management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Volunteer Engagement:
    Assist in recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers for various community projects and events.
  2. Community Outreach:
    Engage with local communities to identify needs, build relationships, and promote the organization's mission.
  3. Event Coordination:
    Contribute to the planning and execution of community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
  4. Program Development:
    Collaborate with the community development team to design and implement programs that address identified community needs.
  5. Communication:
    Support in creating content for newsletters, social media, and other communication channels to keep volunteers and community members informed and engaged.

Learning Objectives and Outcomes:

  1. To develop skills in recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers for diverse community projects.
  2. To learn effective strategies for engaging with local communities, understanding their needs, and fostering positive relationships.
  3. To acquire hands-on experience in planning and executing community events, workshops, and outreach activities.
