At Hypotenuse, interns aren’t here to scan paper or do monotonous tasks. We empower you to make decisions, contribute creatively and think critically. We want self-starters who can take ownership of their work, are entrepreneurial and want a taste of working in a high-growth, fast-moving start-up.
As a linguist intern, you will be focusing on 2 different areas: writing content and analysing language data. On one hand, you will write thought pieces and articles that educate and attract customers, and on the other, you will be helping our AI improve performance and fill gaps in its understanding. This will involve working closely with our software engineers and guiding linguistic choices in our engineering (technical engineering skills not required).
Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct in-depth research on industry-related, technical topics and write articles about them
- Research and analyse linguistic rules and knowledge management
- Analyse written content and copywriting to form up qualitative and quantitative reports and suggestions for improvement
- Do quality checks and proofread content to ensure accuracy and fluency
- At Hypotenuse AI, you'll have a chance to wear multiple hats and get exposed to other business and technical functions as well!
Requirements:
- Excellent command of the English language, with a good grasp of modern slang and expressions
- Ideally some experience in either of: copywriting, linguistics, psychology and/or data science
- Strong attention to detail
- Committed, organised and able to work well with deadlines
- An experimental mindset and ability to learn fast
- Love working with a driven, fast-paced and passionate team (and an endless pantry of snacks)
