At present, GBCI has invested into the development of BCBchain.io a blockchain protocol which is aimed at creating intelligent communities and empowering developers to build smarter and beter cities using its technology. With its inaugural project in supporting the establishment of US$15B Yatai City, which span across 120sqkm. In Myanmar, BCBchain.io is also actively developing over 1000 businesses across SEA with smart city technologies such as smart contract rental & utilities, secure payments, payroll enterprise systems and digital identity systems.

Another GBCi’s project is Fincy.com, a travel and multi-purpose payments lifestyle app that looks to make cross border transactions easy and affordable. Aiming to support tourism, businesses and even the unbanked population, it currently holds digital payments licenses in Cambodia and Singapore with more licenses in the pipeline across SEA.

Job Description

What you will get:

  • Perform legal, business and market research to aid strategic decision making that has a great impact on growth, M&A, vendor selection, partnerships and hiring.

  • Draft and review contracts, term sheets, policies, and marketing communications materials.

  • Ownership over license applications in multiple jurisdictions. This is an end-end responsibility from crafting business plans, completing forms and project management of multiple cross-function stakeholders.

  • Conduct and facilitate regulatory risk assessments on the company’s standard operating procedures.

  • Accountable for legal administration that includes creating a follow-up action plan between the legal department and various teams involved.

  • Liaise with corporate secretaries and related departments in preparing documents required for annual audit including board or shareholder minutes, Annual General Meeting and Company Resolutions.

  • Translation between English and Chinese for legal documents.

  • Support other departments with contract negotiations.

 

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelors in Laws from a reputable university.

  • At least 3 years of working experience in legal practice or in-house role.

  • The ideal candidate would also have significant exposure to corporate work and financial services regulations.

  • Proactive and highly motivated individual who can multi-task and manage multiple deadlines

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin – legal-commercial standard.

  • Experience in cross-border work a bonus.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate well with various stakeholders
