Job Description

General Administrative work within the department inclusive of duties where the intern would:

  • Monitor progress and quality of Power & Comms Package – Including but not limited to Site Electrical Services, Public Lighting Services, Race Track Lighting, Race Communication Services, Broadband TV Services, Telecommunications Services.
  • Undertake as-built checks and prepare mark-ups of as-built drawings
  • Undertake pre and post-condition surveys.
  • Manage contracts, keeping records of the minutes of meeting and assist with the final account closures.

And other duties as might be assigned by their supervisor in relation to Management of Power and Communications services.

The Intern will be expected to:

  • Have the ability (or willingness to learn) to read and interpret basic construction drawings and schematics.
  • Have the ability to communicate with Contractors on site.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and work well with the Power & Comms team.

Skills Gained by the End of Co-op/Internship:

  • Increase exposure to the art of taking minutes of meeting
  • Improved skills in writing reports and presentations
  • Greater construction awareness/experience
  • The importance of team work and collaboration to achieve desired outcomes
  • Exposure to and confidence dealing with international, professional consultants and contractors
  • Experience and exposure to being part of an internationally acclaimed sporting event, that is still the only Night Race in the Grand Prix Calendar
