Background
Electric8 (affectionately known as E8) is a hands-on group of product and growth specialists with offices in Singapore and Jakarta. We help companies in SE Asia build the right digital experiences and scale them systematically on the right channels. Among the few in the region pioneering a test-and-learn approach underpinned by research and data, we’ve worked with some pretty big clients like Capitaland, gaming gear giant Razer, the Discovery Network media conglomerate, as well as some of the region’s fastest growing startups such as Indonesia’s Tiket.com and One Animation, makers of the popular childrens’ cartoon the Oddbods.

To help us with our next growth phase and targets, we’re looking for a talented Product Design Intern to support E8 product designers and leads on creating problem solving designs for our clients that attract, convert and retain users. This job could lead to a full-time position at E8.

What you’ll get to do on the internship
You will support on the following activities (but not be limited to):
- Visual & motion design:
-while maintaining the fundamentals of design, create delightful user interactions in low-to-high fidelity prototypes
- UX thinking:
-building user empathy, while always tying experiences back to objectives and scope
- Design ops:
- create and manage the design, design assets and design operations for a digital product end-to-end
- Prototyping and testing:
-Prioritise and rapidly prototype features, using a variety of tools to validate the usability deliver problem solving designs of solutions
- Systems design:
- create design libraries and different kinds of prototypes (static, script and hard coding)

Who we’re looking for
While we prefer individuals with a design, psychology or interactive media background, this application is open to people from all majors.
The ideal candidate is someone who is able to think critically, loves solving problems and is highly entrepreneurial. We value effective communicators with a positive work attitude and are motivated by the desire to learn, achieve and contribute.
We firmly believe that thirst for knowledge, work ethic and attitude are more important than a candidate’s existing skills or experiences. However, it will be a bonus if candidates have prior experience/expertise in the web and internet sector, particularly in:
- Sketching and design tools
- Web or mobile app analytics tools
Desired Start Date
We are looking for interns to start in July and we hope to find someone to start ASAP. Interviews and admission will happen on a rolling basis.
Schedule & Compensation
The intern must be able to commit to at least 3 months on a full-time basis. If relevant, arrangements can be made to accommodate the intern’s school timetable after the initial 3 months, but he/she will be expected to commit to at least 2 days per week. This is a paid internship in accordance with Singaporean Law.
