About Datakrew

Datakrew develops IoT and AI solutions for EV fleet intelligence, vehicle diagnostics and performance monitoring. You will support device programming, quality checks and dispatch readiness for Datakrew’s vehicle telematics devices. Programming primarily involves flashing approved firmware and configuring devices, with opportunities to assist with simple test scripts under guidance.

Job Description

What you will do

  • Flash approved firmware, apply device configurations and verify firmware versions and device identifiers.
  • Follow QC checklists to test power, connectivity, communication interfaces and sample data transmission using approved tools and test setups.
  • Inspect devices, connectors, cables and accessories, record results, flag failures and retest after fixes.
  • Help troubleshoot basic hardware or configuration issues and share reproducible findings with the engineering team.
  • Maintain serial number, firmware, QC and inventory records so each device is traceable.
  • Prepare installation kits, label and pack devices, and coordinate shipping documentation, dispatch and tracking with the team.
  • Assist with returned-device checks, stock reconciliation and improvements to test procedures or simple automation.

Who should apply

  • Pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Embedded Systems or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits and an interest in hands-on testing, familiarity with a multimeter is useful.
  • Careful, organised and comfortable following checklists, maintaining spreadsheets and documenting issues clearly.
  • Arduino, ESP32, STM32, soldering, serial interfaces or basic Python/C/C++ projects are a plus, not a requirement. Academic and personal projects count, prior industry experience is not required.

What you will learn

Build practical skills in firmware provisioning, hardware testing, fault diagnosis, product traceability and technical operations. This experience is relevant to future roles in hardware validation, embedded systems testing and IoT engineering.
