• Provide translations from Chinese-to-English and vice versa
• Produce subtitles and captions in English and/or Chinese to ensure clients’ requirements are met
• Transcribe English and Chinese audio recordings, in accordance with the project guidelines
• Identify and correct spelling, punctuation and grammatical mistakes in scripts

Requirements:

• Strong in UK English and Mandarin
• A fast typing speed in Chinese is required
• Possess a keen awareness of grammar rules (e.g. modals, tenses, conjunctions), idiomatic expressions and spelling in UK English and Chinese language
• Meticulous and carry out necessary research/checks to ensure correct interpretation and spelling
• Committed to deadlines
• Background in Linguistics, Translation, English Studies, Chinese Studies, History would be a plus
• Stay in close communications with the supervisor/ project manager and actively discuss any questions or issues
