Job Description

Summary

As an renewable energy Investment specialist, you will gain valuable exposure to deal origination, transaction management, deal structuring, business and financial diligence, arranging debt and equity financing and market analysis. You will be provided on-the-job training and support to operate as a junior resource in a highly effective in-country investment and project development team, that is responsible for closing acquisitions and sell-down of projects and companies in the renewable energy sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the origination of a pipeline of renewable energy projects and investment opportunities
  • Develop an understanding of Southeast-Asia, Taiwan, Japan onshore renewables market including trends, market participants, precedent transactions and opportunities
  • Support necessary due diligence, financial modeling, risk analysis and mitigation in the structuring of complex acquisitions, developments and/or project financing transactions
  • Assist with the commercial review and negotiation of term sheets and contracts, including acquisitions agreements, shareholder agreements, joint development partnerships, MoUs. Also assist in commercial review of power purchase agreements (PPAs), leases, EPC contract and O&M agreements.
  • Help with preparing internal approval papers, including analysis and assessment of relevant opportunities to facilitate the Investment Director, Development Director and Blueleaf Energy leadership team to make investment decisions
  • Learn to prepare project teaser or information memoranda for debt and equity investors, including responding to potential investor and financier’s commercial and technical due diligence
  • Assist with preparing professional presentation material containing deal pipeline and transaction details, for review and approval by the Blueleaf Energy leadership team and Board
  • Support regular reporting activities for internal progress management purposes as well as updating Blueleaf Energy leadership on the ongoing deals pipeline and expected timeframes of reaching key milestones
  • Build a network of professional relationships including key external stakeholders (e.g. financial, legal, and commercial advisers), relevant regulatory agencies and industry participants

 

Position Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree or post graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Actuarial or similar discipline
  • No professional experience required but a basic understanding of and interest in renewable energy projects and investment, preferably solar and onshore wind
  • Possess quantitative and analytical skills to be able to conduct financial analysis, valuation and forecasting
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams)
  • Knowledge of securities and M&A regulations
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and ambitious personality with a willingness to learn
  • Effective communicator (written and conversational) in both English as well as ability to communicate with key internal and external stakeholders in another South-East Asian.
