Binary Security Pte Ltd – VP HR

Based in Singapore, Binary Security is currently looking for a junior illustrator on an internship/contract basis who can create original illustrations based on provided manuscripts. This illustrator will be involved in a series of illustrated books targeted at children (age 7 to 10).

• Collaborating with author to fully understand the narrative
• Designing characters and environments
• Presenting a series of mock-ups/sketches for approval
• Transforming sketches into final illustrations with colouring added
• Formatting files so that they are print ready
• Supplying final artwork to set specifications

Job Requirements:

• Currently studying in a recognized university or polytechnic, preferably in design major or related diploma / degree
• Having a portfolio that includes illustrations, storyboards and other 2D work
• Excellent at sketching, drawing and colouring skills
• Familiar with Adobe Photoshop and other design software
• Good verbal communication skills
• Positive, can-do attitude, deadline-driven
• Based in Singapore

Full Time working hours: 9.30am - 6.30pm | Mondays – Fridays

You will be able to gain hands-on experience in book illustration and publication. We prefer printed books over e-books, which means you will eventually get to feel and hold on to your end-product. After this contractual period, you will get a recommendation letter - and - there is a chance to convert into a full-time role after six months of working with us.
