Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist position is a temporary contract role within our HR Department - Asia and the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the daily transactional operation of human resources and act as a local point of in Singapore. The successful candidate will be working closely with Global HR Team and reporting to the Head of Human Resources, Asia. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase leadership skills, confident HR knowledge, particularly but not exclusive to, a strong understanding of the local employment laws, independently deliver the employees life cycle requirement, and to support managing directors on human resources allocation in order to meet the business needs.

Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities: 

  • Act as a HR generalist to provide full range of human resources function, including support of employee life cycle and HR Operations.
  • Partner with stakeholders on needs of staff resources deployment, recruitment process, including placement of job ad, interview arrangements, background screening;
  • Manage all onboarding of new hires, and offboarding of leavers;
  • Support Compensation & Benefit, including payroll process, salaries tax filing, onboarding on benefit schemes;
  • Provide staff orientation, staff exit procedures and employees’ discussions;

Liaise with L&D to meet training needs for business units;

  • Ensure HR procedures are compliant with local law/regulations, and the Company’s policies and guidelines;
  • Manage all Visa applications and ensure relevant working permits are recorded on staff files;
  • Implement integration and acquisition projects locally;
  • Ensure all staff documents (contracts, promotions, etc.) are up to date on HRIS;
  • Ensure the implementation of Global HR policies based on the local regulations and best local market practices;
  • Promote the Company’s value and branding in HR perspective and channels;

Advise and support on performance management guidance to line management;

Assist the business in year-end process (i.e., promotions, bonus, salary increases);

  • Any other ad-hoc duties if assigned.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Basic Mandarin is a must.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders to develop requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role;
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Certified HR Professional Membership credentials (or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
