We are seeking a passionate and creative Interior Design Intern to join our design team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the entire design process, from concept development and space planning to project coordination and site execution. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects, collaborate with experienced designers, and gain valuable industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing design concepts, mood boards, and material palettes.
- Conduct research on design trends, materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories.
- Prepare technical drawings, space plans, 3D models, renderings, and visual presentations.
- Support FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) selection and sourcing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of presentation decks, design proposals, and client submissions.
- Participate in client meetings, design discussions, and presentations.
- Conduct site measurements, site inspections, and project documentation when required.
- Support project coordination with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ensure design documentation is accurate, organized, and updated throughout project stages.
- Assist the design team with administrative and project-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Interior Design, Architecture, Spatial Design, or a related discipline.
- Strong passion for interior design, space planning, and interior architecture.
- Good understanding of design principles, aesthetics, functionality, and material applications.
- Proficient in design software such as:
- Rhino, SketchUp, and/or AutoCAD
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Rendering software such as Enscape, V-Ray, Lumion, or equivalent
- Strong visual presentation and graphic communication skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for design, detail, and functionality.
- Basic knowledge of local building regulations and industry standards is an advantage.
- Proficient in both English and Mandarin to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
