Job Description

Financial Advisory Apprenticeship (Final Year Students & Fresh Graduates)

“Before you commit to the career, come see what it really is.”

Most people join financial advisory not knowing what they’re signing up for. This apprenticeship exists to fix that.

No fluff. No pressure to convert. Just a clear, honest look at the work.

What This Apprenticeship Is About

This is a hands-on, no-obligation program designed for you to:

  • Understand what a financial advisor actually does day-to-day
  • Learn how financial planning works in real life, not just theory
  • Decide if this career is for you, before committing full-time

Think of it as “try before you buy”, but for your career.

What You’ll Learn

By the end of the program, you will be able to:

1. Financial Planning (Your Own Life First)

  • Build your own financial plan
  • Set up budgeting, protection, and long-term goals
  • Understand how to structure income vs expenses

2. Investment Planning

  • Learn core concepts like diversification and risk
  • Build a simple portfolio for yourself
  • Understand how markets affect real portfolios

3. Portfolio Construction

  • Match goals to the right strategy
  • Allocate across different asset classes
  • Avoid the classic beginner mistakes

4. Insurance & Policy Knowledge

  • Read and understand policy documents (not just “trust the advisor”)
  • Know what you’re actually paying for
  • Break down charges, coverage, and fine print

What You’ll Experience

  • Sit in on real client discussions (where appropriate)
  • Practice explaining financial concepts simply
  • Learn how advisors structure recommendations
  • Understand how income is earned in this industry

No sugarcoating, you’ll see both the good and the tough parts.

Who This Is For

  • Final year students or fresh graduates
  • Curious about financial advisory as a career
  • Prefer clarity before commitment
  • Willing to learn and ask questions

What This Is NOT

  • Not a sales quota internship
  • Not forced to join after completion
  • Not just admin or coffee runs

You’re here to learn the job properly, not pretend to work.

Outcome

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will:

  • Know if financial advisory is the right career for you
  • Have your own personal financial and investment plan
  • Be confident reading and understanding policy documents
  • Understand exactly what the job requires, before making a decision

Duration & Commitment

  • Flexible internship period (to fit your school schedule)
  • Structured sessions + practical exposure

Final Note

Most people choose careers blindly. This lets you make that decision with your eyes open.
