The WILD Innovation Intern

A WILD intern isn’t looking to play it safe, and doesn’t believe that “Good Enough” will solve the problems in this world. A WILD intern wants to bring BIG Change in society by taking BIG Actions in Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Community-Building. Importantly, a WILD intern wishes to explore the socially conscious and impactful side of business. 

Wildcats has been inspiring big change to people and organisations across several Southeast Asian countries since the middle of 2020. We developed an Open Innovation platform to find paradigm-changing solutions for real challenges in each of our markets, and have brought out the potential in the thousands of challenge participants thus far to “dream big, start small, act now”.

To support the ongoing operation of innovation challenges, as well as to design and improve on existing innovation engagement methodologies and systems, Wildcats is looking for interns who are out of the box thinkers and going into your final semester or recently graduated, and have previous experience in any forms of innovation, be it starting your own business, or working in the innovation industry (e.g. consulting, venture capital, incubator, accelerator, corporate innovation)

Job Description

Structure of the WILD Innovation Internship

The WILD Innovation Internship is open across the year - interns must be able to commit at least 12 weeks in a full-time (40 hour work week) or part-time (20 hour work week) capacity. We are also open to internships up to 6 calendar months.

The Wildcats team is global; we sit across multiple time zones and geographical locations. Joining us means that you too can be working out of different countries, as long as you are available for at least 4 working hours a day between 8am to 6pm in the GMT +7 time zone. 

You will be working out of our Virtual Office on gather.town and connect “face-to-face” with your other Wildcats colleagues across time and locations, and even take part in planned and spontaneous games and activities that makes working in Wildcats a memorable and rewarding experience.

The WILD Innovation Internship is a PAID internship; we believe that your time and contributions are valuable, and your outputs and efforts would amplify the impact that Wildcats is bringing across communities, companies, and society.

The Innovation Intern’s Responsibilities are:

  • Support the Global Head of Innovation in designing and running innovation challenges for corporate clients, including client engagement and management, challenge definition and setup, ideation workshops etc

  • Assist in set up and running of innovation challenges to ensure all processes are adhered to, and to drive traction and participation from target market

  • Run daily meetings with internal and client stakeholders and marketing agency to measure and refine ongoing innovation challenge

  • Collaborate with Global Director of Community to activate community members into existing and upcoming challenges

  • Work with Global Director of Marketing to source and manage marketing agencies working on innovation challenges

  • Liaise with judges and other support stakeholders during challenge period to ensure that stakeholders are aware and invested in challenge process

  • Design and implement improvements to the Wildcats Innovation framework based on latest Design Thinking and Innovation practices, toolsets, case studies, curriculum and literature

Traits of a WILD Innovation Intern

  • Diploma, Degree or MBA student/graduates

  • Looking for an opportunity to bring huge social and business impact via open innovation, idea development, venture building, community building

  • Very self-motivated, driven, and wants to contribute positively to society

  • Has experience in Innovation and consulting, conducting or facilitating workshops, online teaching
