About the job
We are looking for a passionate technologist who has an all-round engineering exposure to join our Innovation team.With the ability to develop, architect and think“out of the box”,you will not only work on enhancing existing innovation projects but help evolve new cutting edge services from idea through to production.We are open to internships of 3-6 months, year-round ,part time or postgraduates.
As an Innovation and Engineering Intern you will be working directly with our Head of Innovation and receive guidance from experienced teams of engineers, developers, product managers and designers.
Main Responsibilities
•Develop and build modern web interfaces and APIs.
•Further develop existing mobile applications.
•Investigate and implement new technologies and methodologies.
•Manage the development cycle of applications and micro services.
•Create proof of concepts, MVP, demos and test applications.
•Contribute towards new product lines, ideas, developments and Innovations.
•Produce documentation, diagrams and user guides for internal and public audiences.Desired Skills and Experience
•Previous web application and API development experience. Those applicants with commercial work experience and / or a portfolio of projects are highly desirable.
•Proficient programming skills in Java is required. Working knowledge of Vert.x,SpringBoot and other Java based frame works is a bonus.
•Knowledge of, or willingness to learn Android mobile application development
.•MongoDB, Redis and relational databases with SQL.
•Working knowledge of AWS, devops and cloud architecture.•Quick learner and passionate about new technologies.
•Ability to work alone on own initiative as well as contribute as part of a team.
Qualifications
•Existing degree or working towards Masters degree in relevant engineering subject.
•Written and verbal fluency in English.
