This center focuses on advancing technologies in sensor systems and power electronics, serving key sectors such as energy management, electric vehicles (EVs), building automation, and industrial systems.

We are looking for a curious and motivated engineering student who enjoys hands-on hardware development, circuit testing, and exploring new electronics technologies alongside experienced R&D engineers.

Job Description

Your Key Scope of Tasks & Responsibilities

• Research & Conceptualization:

o Conduct literature reviews and technical studies on electronic topologies, components, and power control concepts.

o Learn and explore emerging technologies related to industrial electronics, energy conversion, and smart grid/cloud power systems.

o Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for new product development under guidance from senior engineers.

• Design & Simulation:

o Support the generation and evaluation of circuit concepts, schematic diagrams, and system block diagrams.

o Perform basic circuit simulations using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or Python to evaluate circuit behavior and performance.

• Prototyping & Laboratory Testing:

o Support the assembly, wiring, and testing of proof-of-concept hardware prototypes.

o Perform lab testing and verification using standard equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, electronic loads, and power supplies).

o Assist in basic troubleshooting, debugging, and thermal/electrical performance evaluation.

• Documentation & Teamwork:

o Prepare test reports, performance summaries, and technical documentation to discuss with team members.

Your Professional Profile – Qualifications & Competences

• Education:

o Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline at a university in Singapore.

• Qualifications & Skills:

o Fundamental understanding of basic electrical circuits, analog/digital concepts, and electronic components (resistors, inductors, capacitors, MOSFETs/diodes).

o Familiarity with circuit simulation tools (LTspice, MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, or similar) through coursework or personal/academic projects.

o Exposure to schematic capture, PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, OrCAD, KiCad), or reading component datasheets is an advantage, but not strictly required.

o Hands-on experience with basic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering, wiring) from lab modules or student projects.

• Personal Attributes:

o Strong hands-on mindset with enthusiasm for laboratory experimentation, building prototypes, and testing real hardware.

o Self-motivated, proactive attitude with a keen interest in learning power conversion and hardware design.

o Good technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

o Fluent in English with good written and verbal communication skills.
