True Global Ventures – Business Development

Running Business Development for TGV is no walk in the park. You should be able to move fast, think on your feet, be proactive and not be afraid to break things.

You will have the opportunity to shadow and learn from Dusan Stojanovic, who was named European Business Angel of the Year in 2013 for having 3 exits in 1 week, around the world and gaining in-depth exposure to Fintech. 

Your broad job responsibilities include helping to source and validate potential deal flow, helping our portfolio companies in the 6 areas mentioned above, running events/roadshows, taking charge of the tracking/analytics database we keep, and maintaining the corporate identity of the firm,.

To be more specific, here are some areas you will be partially or wholly responsible for in the coming months:

• Disruption in Banking and Insurance event in Shanghai, January 23

There will be travel opportunities and you will have the chance to travel to London and within Asia (all expenses paid) with TGV. Get the chance to interact and network with C level executives (this event is a private function) from banks and insurance companies as well as promising fintech startups in London and Asia!

You will control the event turnout, logistics and execution of this event on the day itself.

Get the chance to network and interact with key players on the fintech front as well as the most forward thinking banks/insurance firms/ financial institutions with an alias with TGV.

We have strong relationships with the Fintech community that are huge in the mainland, including ANT Financial, Pingan and the Chinese Fintech Unicorn Community. Shanghai and Beijing are definitely on par or even ahead of Fintech innovation when compared to the rest of the world.

You will control the event from conceptualization to execution and take charge of this project.

Your other job responsibilities include:

- Deal sourcing and deal validation

- Keeping track of all introductions, leads and statuses

- Being accountable/responsible for your own project assignments. TGV doesn't micro-manage!

We have previously hired interns from NUS and Nanyang Business Schools and would welcome applications from students studying there, as well as other universities.
For pre-university students, we are looking for those who have completed National Service and have had some experience working in start-ups.

This job is part time in the sense that you will have time to achieve your own objectives set out before the internship (e.g. going for interviews if you are a recent graduate.)
