Responsibilities

• Conceptualize ideas, interpret, and generate drawings using relevant software (eg. Solidworks)
• Design mechanical structures and jig/fixture to meet customer and factory needs and requirements
• Create and modify existing engineering design and model if necessary
• Prepare assembly and detailed engineering drawings on basis of the information and instruction provided (eg. by PCB Layout/ Design Engineer).
• Liaise with PCB Layout / Design Engineer for timely submission of drawings to meet contractual schedule
• Liaise with customer directly, if necessary, on design requirements and criteria 
• Ensure drawings are done in accordance with company’s quality procedures
• Ensure drawings adhere with the highest quality standard to meet customer’s expectation
• Ensure proper recording and documentation on drawings and revisions requested
• Ensure all drawings and designs meet the stipulated project deadlines
• Liaise with Sales to meet new/existing customers (especially when volume of designing projects are low)
• Help boost activities for Mechanical, and drive it to be more than a supporting role
• Design and work on company innovations and products
• Work together with R&D team to develop new technology/products projects and development plans
• Abide to safety compliance and upkeep of cleanliness in workstations daily
• Learn to operate the mechanical machines
• Propose and lead to deliver 2 – 3 new ideas on process improvement or new product launch each year, with at least 1 idea to be adopted for production.
• Participate actively to define and refine process within the company
• Support Engineering and/or production activities to understand and act as the link, especially between design and manufacturability
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by superior

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent preferred
• Fresh graduate with a passion in engineering career are encouraged to apply
