Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sickfamiliespersons with disabilities, and children.  We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

Job Description

This position reports to the Director of Nursing. He/she will manage and perform training planning skills assessments, draft coaching plans and blueprints, whilst ensuring proper delivery of nursing assessments and interventions on the ground. Nurse Educator is required to manage the nurse’s training hours and ensure they obtain targeted training hours annually. Nurse Educator is tasked to assist DON in maintaining and managing Approved Training Centres (ATC) within the division.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Plan, create and draft training blueprints.
  • Create and edit nursing assessment tools.
  • Assess, educate and coach on nursing knowledge & skills for all current nursing staffs, including non-nursing staff undergoing external nursing courses.
  • Tracking & managing training hours for all nurses.
  • Co-lead in promoting education/progression for nurses within the division.
  • Purchase and maintain training requisites for ATC and other coaching sessions within the division.
  • Taking charge of ATC matters, administrative, curriculum and practicum.

Qualifications

  • At least a Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent.

Other Information

  • At least 5 years of experience in training and coaching foreign/local nurses.
  • Possesses the required approved certification for training locally (Industry Trainer Certification)
  • Must be people oriented and work cohesively with other disciplines within the organization.
  • At least 3 years of experience in managerial role.
  • Must possess a valid SNB registration.
  • Possesses at least 6 years of experience in nursing practice, acute or long-term care.

 

The home operates on a 24/7 basis. Working hours may differ to meet the needs of the residents.

  • 5 office-hour working days including weekend.
  • Required to work with residents with challenging behaviours.
  • May need to work outdoors like home visits, community outings, exercise maintenance and Corporate Social Responsibilities initiatives.
  • May need to travel between homes within the Division.
