The Salvation Army Singapore – Legal Counsel

• Responsible for the drafting, reviewing and modifying contracts and legal documents for the organization’s work in Singapore & Malaysia
• Ensure the organization's compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and all licensing requirements
• Keep abreast of changes to laws and regulations and recommend changes to internal policies and procedures accordingly.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to the management team and employees on various legal matters including but not limited to corporate governance, contracts, employment law, intellectual property, public relations, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
• Identify and assess legal risks and develop strategies to minimize or mitigate them.
• Implement risk management programs and policies to protect the organization's interests.
• Work with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the organization in negotiations, settlements, and court proceedings (if needed)
• Remain current on legal developments, precedents, and industry practices.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making, provide accurate legal advice and prepare all papers for the respective governance Bodies (when needed)
• Participate in negotiations, if needed
• Complete any other tasks assigned by the direct superior.

Qualifications

• Degree in law and based in Singapore
• Proficient in legal drafting with good communication and written skills;
• Minimum of 3 years of legal in-house counsel related working experience;
• Strong leadership, teamwork, accountable and responsible
