Job Posting: Tutors for Secondary, IB, JC Pre-University, and SAT Programs
About the Role The Ivy Institute is looking to hire tutors across the secondary, IB, JC pre-university, and SAT levels to support our growing global student base. This is an ad hoc posting. We will assign students to you as they come in and you will be paid on a per hourly basis. We are seeking subject specialists who can deliver high quality instruction that directly supports university admissions outcomes. Subjects we are hiring for include: For IB: Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL and SL, Mathematics Applications and Interpretations HL and SL, Physics HL and SL, Chemistry HL and SL, Biology HL and SL, Economics HL and SL, Business Management HL and SL, Psychology HL and SL, History HL and SL, English Language and Literature HL and SL, English Literature HL and SL, Computer Science HL and SL, and Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge support. For JC and A Level: H1 and H2 Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Economics, History, Literature in English, and General Paper. For Standardized Test Prep: SAT Math, SAT Reading and Writing, ACT Math, ACT English, ACT Reading, ACT Science, and AP subjects including AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, AP Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Economics, and AP Computer Science.
What You Will Do
1. Deliver 1 to 1 and small group tutoring sessions online or in person depending on location
2. Create tailored lesson plans and practice materials aligned to IB, A Level, JC, and SAT curricula
3. Track student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents
4. Collaborate with our admissions coaches to ensure academic work supports each student's university strategy
Who You Are
1. Diploma/HS Cert /Bachelor's degree required. Master's or PhD preferred. Ivy League or top 20 university background preferred
2. Proven expertise in one or more of the subjects listed above
3. 2 plus years tutoring or teaching experience preferred
4. Strong communicator who can explain complex concepts clearly to high-achieving students
5. Reliable, organized, and able to commit to scheduled sessions with students
Compensation and Benefits Compensation per hour will depend on seniority and subject expertise but will be competitive to industry rates. Because this is an ad hoc posting, you will be assigned students as they come in and paid on an hourly basis for all sessions completed. In addition, the position comes with attractive benefits for inbound client referrals. Tutors who refer families who enroll in our admissions coaching or tutoring packages will be eligible for affiliate commission on those referrals.
