The Grounds Therapy – Intern / Volunteers for Special Needs Teacher Assistant

• Learn to and assist teachers with conducting lessons in a group intervention setting
• Learn to create lesson plans and meaningful/functional activities
• Assist with check-in and check-out of children
• Learn to document child’s progress
• Contribute to IEP goals
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team of SPED Teachers and Therapists
• Learn to communicate with caregivers/parents and give updates on progress and school work
• Assist the SPED teachers in their daily work

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing or have a relevant diploma or degree in early childhood education (special needs)
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong command of English Language written and verbal
• Must enjoy working with children with learning needs
