Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

  • This position is a paid position offered by The Global Citizen Education Group.
  • As a Japanese-Speaking Trainer, your main role is to provide skills training and classes for native Japanese students.
  • The ideal candidate should have a passion for co-curricular education, particularly in the fields such as public speaking, debate, Model United Nations, global citizenship, leadership, or sustainability.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Train learners in Japanese or English;
  • Develop content for lectures and seminars such as lecture slides, lesson plans, assessments, handouts and worksheets;
  • Inspiring and teaching global citizenry, communication and other 21st century skills to students;
  • Translate materials from English to Japanese or vice versa;
  • Conduct lectures and seminars entirely in Japanese;
  • Perform the necessary administrative and operational work to effectively run the courses;

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Preference for individuals with JLPT certifications or relevant qualifications
  • Preferred 1 year of relevant teaching/ mentorship experience
  • Good command of the Japanese and English language, both written and verbal
  • Strong communication skills (especially presentation and public speaking)
  • Professional and able to work independently
  • Passionate about teaching
