STEMIE Advantages Ltd is a non-profit organisation with a focus on innovation, invention, and entrepreneurship education for children and youths between the ages of 5 to 20. It is affiliated with The Henry Museum of American Innovation & Entrepreneurship (Dearborn, Michigan), Invented Community (Lemelson Foundation, Oregon), and Invent Future Globals Collective in 33 countries.
STEMIE Advantages is conducting Youth Invention Classes for youths above 11 years old and hosts invention sprints and the annual Singapore Invention Convention for students from ages 5 up to 20.
We are participating in three community events happening from September to November 2022:
- Singapore Design Week (September 16 - 25)
- Science Centre (October 4 to 9)
- Singapore Invention Convention (November 21 - 25)
We welcome interns and trainees who are interested in design, teaching, innovation, arts and crafts to join us and be part of our large community of innovators and inventors.
We are accepting interns who may not be able to complete the one to two months with us but are available for at least two weeks during the project periods above. If you have any questions please reach out to us.
Trainee Teacher
The trainee teacher's role is to conduct activity sessions of one hour with parents and children in small groups. These are from 10 am to 5 pm during the event periods. A schedule will be developed for each teacher.
The trainee teacher will:
- Learn how to teach activities and work with families
- Learn how to prepare and set up activity stations
- Assist and participate in the preparation of materials for each activity
- Conduct activity sessions independently
- Learn how to write reports after each teaching session
Qualities of our trainee teacher:
- Speak fluently in English
- Enjoys learning and working with others
- Communicates well with people of all ages
- Vivacious and warm personality
- Effective time management skills
- Good self-management
The allowance given is dependent on the availability of the trainee teacher. This will be discussed during the interview.
