SPH Media Limited – Writing Intern – ICON Magazines

We are seeking a highly motivated and culturally attuned Chinese Writer Intern to join our editorial team. The ideal candidate has strong writing skills in Chinese, a sharp eye for detail, and a curiosity for storytelling across lifestyle, culture, fashion, and the arts. This internship provides hands-on experience in content creation, research, reporting, and publication workflows within a professional media environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation & Writing: Assist in drafting articles, interviews, profiles, and features in Chinese for digital and print platforms.

2. Research & Reporting: Conduct background research for stories, including industry trends, brand histories, and talent profiles.

3. Editorial & Production Support: Participate in brainstorming sessions for story ideas, seasonal topics, and editorial angles.

4. Digital & Social Content: Support the creation of short-form content for social media channels.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

Strong comm and of written Chinese with excellent grammar, tone, and stylistic awareness.

Ability to read and understand English for research and translation tasks. Interest in lifestyle, luxury, fashion, culture, or the arts is highly preferred.

Strong research abilities and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.

Familiarity with digital media platforms and social content trends is a plus. Bonus: Experience with journalism, creative writing, or communications coursework
