JOB DESCRIPTION
A. Overall Purpose Of The Job
Interns will learn how to talk to people from all walks of life, how to ask questions at press conferences and cover news events, process information, interview newsmakers. They will learn how to write stories online and print, shoot simple videos, and how to use social media to promote content.B. Key ResponsibilitiesThe scope of responsibilities includes the following:Interns can expect to work closely with desk editors and journalists to cover everything that matters to Singaporeans and residents. This includes housing, transport, education, community and human interest stories, among other areas. They will typically start off playing a supporting role, shadowing journalists on jobs / assignments. Those who perform well will be assigned to cover jobs on their own. During their time with us, they will learn how to write/structure stories and how to present information effectively.
Required Skills and Knowledge
Must have good writing and interpersonal skillsWilling to work irregular hours and on weekends/public holidays.
Must have a keen interest in current affairs, local news and be comfortable with social media platforms.
They must be able to think on their feet and react to news events.
