Job Description

Job Summary:

As our AM Engineering Intern, you’ll be integral to our progress, contributing to the development of innovative features and enhancing existing ones. Your work will primarily aim to augment the quality and efficiency of our DigiPart Identify solution. Your scope of work will span across areas such as technical and functional part analysis, costing methods (both AM and conventional), and material science.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the Product Manager in devising and refining product features. For instance, you may contribute to brainstorming sessions for a new module within our DigiPart software.
  • Gather, organize, and sustain a robust database of critical technical data, such as material properties, process parameters, and part designs, supporting our developmental and operational activities.
  • Create innovative techniques and tools for the identification of parts suitable for additive manufacturing. This could include developing an algorithm for automated design analysis or a material selection process.
  • Record and document your developmental activities, which might involve creating a risk analysis report, performing FMEA for a particular manufacturing process, or drafting SOPs for newly introduced workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge: Experience in either Mechanical design, Material selection, Process characterization, or Quality Processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with Python, data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy), and databases (SQL, noSQL).
  • User-Centric: Practical, with a focus on user experience.
  • Motivated Team Player: Eager to learn and excel in a team setting.
  • Independent: Capable of focused, efficient work with minimal supervision.

Remember, we’re not just looking for someone who ticks all the boxes. We’re looking for a dynamic individual who’s ready to grow and evolve alongside us. If you see this as more than just an internship, but as a step towards your future, we’d be thrilled to welcome you to our team.

Learning Objectives:

This internship aims to enhance your skills and understanding in:

  • Cutting-edge 3D printing solutions and software,
  • Technical and functional part analysis, costing methods, and material science,
  • Python programming, focusing on data processing libraries and databases,
  • User-centric design and practical problem-solving,
  • Operations in a fast-growing high-tech company.

Mentorship and Support:

  • Guided by our Digital-CTO, Technical-CTO, and DigiPart Product Owner, you’ll have regular check-ins for progress review and feedback, facilitating a productive and enriching internship experience.
