SmartRx Pte Ltd – Engineering Intern

SmartRx is a Singapore-based med-tech company improving medication access and care delivery through patented automated dispensing machines and tele-consultation pods, enhancing convenience for consumers and supporting healthcare providers amid workforce shortages.

Job Summary

As an engineering intern at SmartRx, you will ensure all products are fully documented, traceable, and audit-ready, supporting a lean team to innovate safely and efficiently. You will engage hands-on with hardware, drawings, and systems to drive quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform to capture all existing and in-development products, ensuring centralized and accessible product data
• Support ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) implementation by developing procedures, workflows, and a document control system linked to the PLM for traceable quality records, including field service reports
• Standardize engineering drawings by converting existing PDFs into the SmartRx drawing template to ensure consistency and clarity
• Audit technical dossiers by reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, CAD models, and assemblies to identify and correct errors following QMS document control procedures through the PLM system
• Translate specific customer requirements into detailed design requirements and technical specifications for customization projects
• Collaborate with the field service team by participating in product failure assessments and integrating field insights into design improvements
• Contribute to additional projects and operational tasks as needed in a dynamic startup environment

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in an engineering discipline
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as PTC Creo or SolidWorks
• Exposure to PLM applications
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate documentation and automate workflows
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to work across multiple languages to support documentation and collaboration
• Meticulous, analytical mindset with a genuine curiosity about product construction and engineering processes
