Objectives
The SRA was founded in 1977, originally as the Singapore Retail Merchants Association by 10 leading retailers, with the following objectives:
To improve the business standards, professionalism and productivity of retailers.
To present retailers' interests and views to the various government authorities.
To foster good relations among retailers, and between retailers and those who work with them.
To be a listening post for news that is of interest to retailers.
To support all members, whether big or small, whatever their line of retailing.

Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and follow up on marketing campaigns for all events organised by SRA and/or in partnership with government agencies, business partners, member companies and vendors
- Manage event budgets and generate reports and analysis especially on the events’ effectiveness
- Drive awareness of all events on all relevant and available marketing platforms including digital
- Drive new business opportunities with existing and new SRA members, business partners and government agencies including procurement of sponsorships
- Encourage support and participation from industry wide retailers
- Generate media publicity and monitor responses from retailers and general public
- Develop a viable and sustainable business strategy for GoSpree
- Manage the Association’s website, Facebook and Instagram communication platforms
