Objectives

The SRA was founded in 1977, originally as the Singapore Retail Merchants Association by 10 leading retailers, with the following objectives:

To improve the business standards, professionalism and productivity of retailers.

To present retailers' interests and views to the various government authorities.

To foster good relations among retailers, and between retailers and those who work with them.

To be a listening post for news that is of interest to retailers.

To support all members, whether big or small, whatever their line of retailing.

Job Description

Organise, manage and market the Association’s events and projects to engage the industry, encourage industry participation, and raise the image and profile of the Association

Communicate and coordinate with retailers, industry associates, strategic partners, government agencies and vendors with respect to the Association’s events and projects

Develop and oversee the marketing and communications programmes including print, internet and out-of-home advertising; social media marketing; production of event websites and marketing collaterals; and public relations to publicise and promote the Association’s events and projects

To plan and manage the event and marketing budgets, and ensure that targets are met. Responsible for budget management delivering all marketing activities within the agreed budget set for each project. Manage vendor contracts; exercise diligence in tracking expenses to meet expense/budget goals. Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with market value for services rendered

Implement new ideas and methods and continue to both improving contribution to the organisation’s goals and enhancing the reputation of the Association. Complying with Association’s policies, procedures and instructions at all times.

To achieve frequent, timely and positive media coverage across all available media channels and conduct market research in order to identify market requirements for current and future initiatives
