Key Responsibilities
Design & Prototyping
- Create and modify 3D models using CAD software.
- Assist in preparing designs for additive manufacturing.
- Fabricate prototype components using polymer-based 3D printing technologies.
Process Development
- Optimise printing parameters such as temperature, speed, layer thickness, and material flow.
- Evaluate print quality and process stability.
- Support troubleshooting and improvement activities.
Material Evaluation
- Assist in the preparation and handling of printing materials.
- Conduct basic material characterization and testing.
- Evaluate prototype performance under different conditions.
Testing & Analysis
- Perform dimensional inspection and mechanical testing.
- Analyse experimental data and summarize findings.
- Support product validation studies.
Documentation
- Record experimental results and observations.
- Prepare technical reports and presentation materials.
Requirements
Educational Background
Currently pursuing a Diploma, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in:
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechatronics Engineering
- Industrial Design
- Or related disciplines
Technical Skills
Preferred:
- Familiarity with 3D printing technologies
- Hands-on fabrication or prototyping experience
- Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or equivalent)
- Interest in materials, manufacturing, and product development
Bonus:
- Experience with FDM, DIW, dispensing, SLA, or other additive manufacturing processes
- Mechanical testing experience
- Data analysis using Python or MATLAB
- Materials characterization experience
