The Human Resource Student Trainee is an eight weeks’ long opportunity where you will gain practical experience with the HR Business Partner team.
As part of HR at Schroders, you will work to ensure managers across the business have world-class skills and tools to meet the needs of our people – and ultimately our customers. Along the way, you will learn to understand and operate according to evolving as well as pre-defined framework and regulations. As part of the function-wide process review, you will also be given the opportunity to work on a payroll mapping project from start to end. The work experience would be a valuable way to gain fundamental experience in this rewarding, and often challenging function.
HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner provides HR support to the business with full generalist support, covering the whole spectrum from people strategy, HR initiatives, employee relations issues, to delivering HR operations and other HR-related matters. The HRBP works either directly or in conjunction with specialist teams to implement HR solutions and ensure that firm policies and procedures are adhered to across the business area.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an adaptable, personable team player, who is comfortable dealing with complex and sensitive issues.
You should have good command of the following skills:
- Motivated individual who has a genuine interest in the financial services industry.
- Produces exceptional quality of work demonstrating precision and structure.
- Works well in a team to achieve group goals and can perform independently on individual assignments.
- Capable of applying insightful and practical judgement to the area of work.
- Able to articulate and engage stakeholders of all levels.
- Past experiences collaborating outside the classroom are viewed favourably, e.g. volunteer work, key role in team sports, business partners, etc.
- Computer skills - proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Visio would be a bonus.
