Job Description

We are looking for a Technology Engineer, with a keen mind and a strong interest in R&D design of solar module products. The candidate will be responsible for the improvement, evaluation and development of the encapsulations, foils and back-sheet materials as well as the processes and characterization for our next generation photovoltaic products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Encapsulants, Foils and Back-sheet Development: Develop, test, and qualify new encapsulants and back-sheets for solar PV modules.

Process Development: Drive quality improvement in the reliability aspects of solar PV modules.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist R&D and process teams with technical analyses, troubleshooting and improvement projects.
  • Plan, coordinate and execute product enhancements to module design with external collaborators.
  • Drive project schedule and technical enquiries. Strategize testing/characterization methods.

Qualifications

  • D. in Polymer Science/Chemical Engineering Field.
  • Min. 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of PV module design functionalities.
  • Knowledge in characterization and analysis.
  • Understanding of degradation mechanism of high capacitance products.
  • Possess excellent project management skills, keeping track of key milestones and deliverables and providing regular updates to management team.
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis methods and DOE.
  • Self-driven

  • Excellent team worker.
  • Ability to co-operate with different professionals (operations, equipment suppliers, technology institutes, supply chain, operation).
  • Working experience in Solar/Semiconductors/Electronics/Packaging industries is an advantage, but not necessary.

ADDITIONAL ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

Product Reliability Test Design: Familiar with reliability tests, e.g. Damp-heat, Temp Cycle, Humidity Freeze, Light induced degradation, thermal shock.

Failure Analysis: Leading FA from technical part. In-depth understanding of module process – structure – property relations, and the degradation mechanism in actual application.

Creating test methodology to analyze failure samples and find out root cause.

Documenting FA report based on technical understanding.

Finite element modelling and analysis (e.g. Solidworks, ANSYS).

Documentation: Experience in documentation of experimental observations & data in publications / literature.
