Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on system Principal Engineer, Senior Engineer or Engineer who will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and improvement projects for the Mechanical, HVAC and process systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the operations and maintenance of mechanical systems
  • Perform detailed system design and engineering tasks in order to assure and improve system reliability.
  • Follow up on projects relating to mechanical systems – including but not limited to HVAC System, Exhaust System (Acid / General / Silane / VOC / NOx), scrubbers, Waste water Systems, Compressor System, PCW System, Chilled Water System and Cooling Water System
  • Embark on cost saving initiatives and map out cost reduction roadmap.
  • Conduct monthly meetings to review key KPIs with vendors.
  • Conduct frequent site inspections and attend site meetings to ensure high quality standard work and timely delivery in accordance to schedule.
  • Responsible for general on-site technical & engineering matters relating to mechanical systems.
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Attend daily meetings and prepare weekly and monthly reports. Ensure that mechanical spending is within budget.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned by reporting supervisor.
  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance without interruption of the installed facilities and equipment
  • Perform systematic engineering study and solution that lead to optimal performance, stability and reliability of the utilities supply systems
  • Develop & review O&M operating procedures with risk assessment.
  • Ensure compliance to safety, health and environmental rules/regulation/policy with respect to safety, hazardous substance/flammable material management, ERT and permit to work systems
  • Develop and coordinate preventive, predictive maintenance of utilities systems
  • Effective management of resources such as energy etc
  • Prepare maintenance schedule through CMMS
  • Ensure PM fault / ad hoc work request job work order creation and closure
  • Review & advice spare parts/consumables procurement
  • Responsible for PM follow up or ad hoc job request repair
  • Manage work permit application & LOTO
  • Responsible for statutory renewal/application of equipment licensing
  • Ensure system compliance to ISO 14001 & OHSAS 45000 standards
  • Manage external contractor in terms of safety/quality/operation/maintenance 
  • Respond to all Facilities incidents, emergencies and alarms
  • Standby 24/7 to response back to company for emergency activation.
  • Conduct incident/accident investigation process including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and ensure corrective/preventive actions are completed.
  • Conduct Facilities System job observation layer audits and risk assessments.
  • Conduct Facilities System FMEA, RCM & SPC.
  • Participate actively in Total Production Maintenance
  • Participate actively in key project such as cost reduction, system improvement, Facilities Cpk improvement, new facilities system development and qualification, new material evaluation/ qualification, etc.
  • Participate actively in all continuous improvement projects related to cost, quality & service
  • Responsible for project execution, maintenance costing, operationality and progress control related to facilities system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Duties will vary according to the project progress/maintenance scope and/or the specific goals of the division.
  • Coaches, mentor and conduct training for targeted organizations on facilities systems.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in Mechanical/HVAC System for Senior Engineer Position
  • Good supervisory and leadership skills
  • Good technical and analytical skills in problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Required skill(s): MS Office, MS Excel
  • Possess positive work attitude
  • Strong sense of responsibility, independence and accountability
  • Proactive & assertive team player
  • Able to work late for ad-hoc system troubleshooting and breakdowns
