This program provides students a hands-on experience working on practical actuarial and data analytics work within the Health Insurance Industry. Interns will be given exposure and guidance to understand medical related insurance data used in actuarial pricing and reporting functions, which may include patient socioeconomic data, claims data and healthcare trends. The scope of work includes organising, validating, analysing, and presenting data and business insights to key stakeholders, and support in product pricing and valuation reporting on ad hoc projects for automation, process improvement and enhancements, ultimately providing a holistic understanding of the healthcare and health insurance industry.
Job Description
Design, enhance, automate and document various data and analytics processes to support actuarial pricing and reporting functions.
This may include:
- Actuarial pricing tools
- Claims data and analysis processes
- Reporting templates and submissions
- Other ad hoc pricing and reporting functions as required
Qualifications
- Students pursuing a degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics or other related disciplines that possesses analytical and quantitative components.
- Experience in product lines such as life and health insurance products will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn, well-organised, independent and resourceful while driven to collaborate and contribute as a team player, positive work ethic.
- Familiarity and proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Access, VBA, Python, R, SQL or other coding/data tools will be an advantage.
