About Padang & Co

Padang & Co is the Open Innovation company.  We bring together talented members of our diverse community and organisations from the public, private and people sectors to consider challenges, collaborate on ideas and co-create new solutions.  In the past three years, we have organised over 60 online challenges and hackathons and over 75 workshops.

Job Description

As a Community & Events Intern at Padang & Co, you will experience first-hand how we bring together stakeholders and people from diverse communities and create the conditions for them to collaborate to solve real-world problems. In the past six years, we have organised over 60 hackathons and challenges and well over 100 workshops.

You will gain hands-on experience in the process from managing targeted outreach campaigns to engaging with existing and new communities to draw event participants to planning and executing the various Open Innovation events.

You will get a chance to:

· Get an insider view of the startup and innovation ecosystem and see how technology is shaping the future in various industries;

· Research, recognise, and segment various communities, and create the foundations for a targeted campaign;

· Write engaging copy for messaging through various channels and targeted to various groups;

· Assist in the planning and execution of Open Innovation events (such as workshops and hackathons)– from conceptualisation to timeline management and execution;

· Manage logistical requirements by liaising with vendors and suppliers;

· Understand client / partner briefs and coordinate between various stakeholders to execute them effectively; and

· Chronicle the highlights of events in blog posts.

It would be great if you are:

· a team player, who enjoys the energy of a startup

· a independent worker who is organised and detail-oriented, whilst multi-tasking

· a dreamer who is interested in learning beyond your job scope, and is always seeking new ways of working

Ideally, you would also have some experience planning and executing events.

The team:

Work with our core team - a diverse group of people from different parts of the world who have varied interests in design, copywriting, film, photography, events, and making things (projects) happen. We are ready to learn from you as much as you would like to learn from us. And don’t be shy. Come add your quirks to our quirky mix.

We are people too

· board game nights, movie nights, badminton, rockclimbing

· foosball tournaments (we have a RANKING)

· interesting lunch conversations

This position is open now. Candidates are expected to commit to no less than three months (preferably six months). Outstanding candidates who meet our requirements can be considered for a part-time arrangement. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
