Job Description

Assistant Director (Drama)

We are looking for an organised and proactive Assistant Director (Drama) to support the Director and AD team in the smooth execution of daily shoots.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with script breakdowns, scheduling and daily shoot preparation.

  • Coordinate cast and crew movements, call times and scene readiness.

  • Support the Director and Producer in managing the shooting schedule and set operations.

  • Liaise with production departments including Camera, Art, Wardrobe, Makeup and Location.

  • Monitor scene continuity, props, wardrobe and other production requirements.

  • Assist with rehearsals, blocking, extras and scene transitions.

  • Maintain clear communication, set discipline and safety throughout the shoot.

  • Track outstanding shots, pickups and end-of-day requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in drama/TV production or a similar AD role.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced set environment.

  • Proactive, responsible and detail-oriented.

  • Willing to work long and irregular production hours.
