OakNorth Holdings is the fastest company to achieve unicorn status in European history (30 months from inception). With offices in London, Singapore, New York, Gurugram, Bangalore, and shortly Shenzhen, OakNorth’s mission is to unlock bespoke financing at scale for mid-to-large corporates.
Our fintech platform (OakNorth Analytical Intelligence or OakNorth AI), which we developed to address this problem, is being used by a number of leading banks around the world, and by our bank in the UK. To date in the UK, the platform has helped us lend over $2.5bn in the past 3 years, with 0 defaults to date. Globally, the platform has been deployed at various banks across North America, Europe, and Asia with $5bn of assets under management.
OakNorth Holdings was set up in 2015 by Rishi Khosla and Joel Perlman, who previously co-founded Copal Amba and grew it to 3,000 employees over 12 years, with offices across the world including a 200-employee office in Beijing, before selling it to Moody’s (NYSE: MCO) in 2014, returning 175 times capital to seed investors.
Since its inception, OakNorth Holdings has secured $576m ($455m primary) from several investors, including: GIC (Singapore’s Sovereign Wealth Fund), Coltrane, Clermont Group, NIBC, EDBI of Singapore, Toscafund, and Indiabulls.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in business development pitches of the OakNorth AI platform to C-suite executives and prioritize ground work
- Responsible for gathering market research on commercial banking in Asia, as well as client research within this sector
- Assist G&D team in ensuring successful OakNorth AI banking implementations fine-tuned to meet customer needs
- Assist G&D team in engaging with clients to answer critical questions and ensure a clear product road map and deployment schedule
- Assist G&D team in communication with OakNorth’s engineers and data scientists on product improvements and strategic design of the platform, incorporating client feedback throughout
- Maintain a deep understanding of the OakNorth AI system
- Ability to travel to client sites, and assist with OakNorth AI implementations in Asia and elsewhere depending upon business need
