Job Description

Role objectives:

The Merchandising and Logistics intern supports the growth of the business with key markets direct and distributors globally. Main responsibilities include but are not limited to handling and managing all order fulfilment activities, delivery status, updating sales and merchandising assets, supporting with reporting and analysis of sales data, and supporting with logistics for August Berg. The candidate should have interest in supporting retail and e-commerce operations, understanding the role and function of logistics, sales and merchandising within the retail industry.

 

Principal responsibilities/accountabilities:

  • To ensure all orders are delivered within lead time and to support new market and new product launches.
  • Responsible for the entire order fulfilment process for retailers and distributors.
  • Good communication amongst the August Berg team, customers, and external partners.
  • Ensure no discrepancies on billings or invoices.
  • Assist in weekly reporting, team meetings and contributing to decision making.
  • Assist in conducting market research and analysing data to give recommendations and improvements to support sales.
  • Supporting the Merchandising and Account manager with day-to-day requests from internal and external partners.

Operations

  • Coordinate order fulfilment with warehouse and logistics partners, on collection of goods, order processing and delivery to support retail and distribution activities for the global market.
  • Ensure all orders are delivered within specified lead times.
  • Liaise with Logistics department to schedule deliveries to and from our warehouse.
  • Monitoring courier performance by maintaining communication and good working relations with our warehouse and delivery providers.

Administrative

  • Manage daily order fulfilment for dispatch of retail partners and distributor orders.
  • Supporting the opening of prospective new accounts via the dispatch of samples and tracking closely for arrival times.
  • Updating sales assets and merchandising documents as required for business needs.
  • Timely processing of orders, invoicing, and shipping documents before month end closing.

Market Support

  • Assist in conducting market research, analysing data and reports to give recommendations and improvements to current strategies.
  • Review of competitor pricing and new product launches.
  • Monitor sales performance for August Berg, reviewing and updating of bestsellers/slow sellers.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management or Equivalent.
  • Good organization skills and strong attention to details and data management skills
  • Solid understanding and sense of the retail environment
  • Customer focused with good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Effective communication skills, time management & co-ordination abilities
  • Number savvy and proficient in MS suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
