The Knowledge & Insights team conducts research studies in the non-profit sector, investigating trends and uncovering insights around volunteering and philanthropy. The team aims to be the subject matter expert in the giving space, providing robust research evidence to support strategic planning of NVPC and the sector.
Project Overview: The intern will contribute to the Corporate Engagement Impact Evaluation Series, a strategic research initiative that seeks to systematically measure, evaluate and articulate the effectiveness of NVPC's programmes and engagement strategies. These efforts are aimed at refining existing strategies and strengthening programmes, to encourage and facilitate corporate participation across volunteering, philanthropy, and broader sustainability domains.
Through this series, the intern will support the translation of complex programme outcomes into clear indicators of social and business value. The work contributes to advancing thought leadership in corporate purpose and responsible business practices, while supporting data-driven programme design and continuous improvement.
By participating in this initiative, the intern will gain hands-on exposure to applied social research and impact evaluation, learning how evidence and insights are generated to drive meaningful, sustained engagement within the corporate sector, in alignment with national priorities and the broader social impact ecosystem.
The intern will join a team that is currently working on NVPC's Corporate Engagement Impact Evaluation Series. The research study is beginning its data collection phase. The intern will support in the following:
- Data processing and cleaning of transcripts
- Conducting qualitative interviews
- Literature reviews
- Analyses and generating insights
- Translating insights into actionable recommendations for strategic decisions and program design
Qualifications
- Background in Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or related domains
- Knowledge and experience in social research methodologies (e.g., qualitative interviews, focus-group discussions, cognitive interviews)
- Experience in conducting social research, interviews, and transcribing interviews is a plus
- Domain knowledge in corporate citizenship and its drivers and barriers (volunteering, donations, ESG practices) is a plus
