Job Description
The Marriott Development Planning and Feasibility function in Asia Pacific focuses on providing competitive insights to support the decision making process of various disciplines within the organization such as Development, Brand and Operations. Primarily, the team is responsible for producing in-depth market and economic evaluations of potential business opportunities for all Marriott lodging products in Asia Pacific to support the Company achieving its expansion goals in new markets and long-range growth strategy.
The intern will assist in providing operational support in various development activities to the divisional and regional offices. Key responsibilities include but will not be limited to, the following:
- Carry out desktop market research and competitive assessment in relation to a specific project or more generally about the hospitality industry
- Formulate brand & facilities program recommendations
- Support financial analyses & projections
- Support market study reports
- Create Development Marketing materials
- Assist in the preparation of presentations or RFP about Marriott’s brands
- Support new brand launch in APAC by conducting competitive landscape research
- Gather owner and real estate intelligence
- Gather industry and competitor intelligence
- Case studies for repositioning and renovation
- Review projects post opening and other development strategies; draw learnings and recommend best practices going forward
- Assist in the compilation of specific industry reports aimed at informing management about the relative positioning of Marriott vis-à-vis its competitors
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Prior experience in a consulting company or as a teaching assistant for Development-related subjects would be preferred
Qualification standard
Education
Undergraduate in Business Management or Hospitality, preferably in their third year of undergrad studies
Requirements
Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder or valid student pass
Prepared to commit to a six months’ internship
Eligible for undergraduate in a Singapore registered university program
