Lokoro – Community and Content Intern

LOKORO is a profit-for-purpose enterprise. Our mission is to help build thriving communities by connecting residents, businesses, non-profit organizations and businesses in a local neighbourhood. The Lokoro app is designed to facilitate social connections, local commerce and to drive positive change within the neighbourhood through great content and community-building initiatives. We are launching in August this year and looking for social change agents and partners who are keen to be part of the Lokoro community and to drive positive social impact in our communities.

Building communities and creating uplifting and engaging social content are key to the success of Lokoro. We are looking for an energetic and passionate Community and Content intern who will drive interest and engagement with the Lokoro platform among our key stakeholders – users, advertisers and partners. 

Key responsibilities of the Community and Content intern (post roll-out):

• Identify and engage new partners and advertisers

• Develop initiatives to engage Loko Champions and drive new user acquisition

• Create new campaigns / content / posts that are relevant and interesting on the Lokoro platform

• Monitor the effectiveness of our content strategy and work with the Lokoro core team to continuously improve it

The ideal candidate should be energetic and passionate about media and doing social good. He or she should be a creative but organized thinker, who can develop interesting ideas / media stories / content, but also be effective at rolling out the content and measuring the impact. He or she will also need to engage partners and Loko Champions on an on-going basis to build interest in the platform and facilitate collaboration. He or she will most likely have a background in any of the following: Communications / Media / Marketing / Community Building / Content Building and a history of volunteering for social causes. There is a potential to convert the internship into a full-time role for the right candidate.
