Job Summary: As an Data Center Technician, you will play a crucial role in the physical setup and maintenance of our customer's data center infrastructure . This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about IT hardware and eager to develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hardware Installation: Perform rack and stack tasks, including unpacking, mounting, and securing servers, switches, and storage devices.
- Cabling: Laying, label, and manage power, network, and fiber optic cables in compliance with data center standards.
- OS Upgrades: Install and upgrade operating systems of network devices and servers.
- Wi-Fi Survey: Conduct Ekahau wireless survey and prepare the necessary heatmaps and reports.
- Troubleshooting: Assist in basic troubleshooting of hardware components and connectivity issues.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Conduct routine equipment checks and report any physical issues or irregularities.
- Inventory Management: Update and maintain accurate records of installed hardware and cabling.
- Support: Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers during upgrades, maintenance, and decommissioning tasks.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of IT hardware components (servers, switches, storage devices, etc.).
- Familiarity with network and power cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics).
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Good physical fitness, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Prior hands-on experience in a similar environment is a plus.
