An appreciation for music while fostering creativity and expanding horizons in an orchestral environment, to encourage teamwork and instill discipline.
kids’ philharmonic@sg (KPO) is a non-profit organisation. It had performed unofficially for the first time in December 2011 at the Esplanade Recital Studio. This was followed by a sold-out concert soon after and has since developed into kids’ philharmonic@sg. The orchestra then made its inaugural debut at the Singapore Conference Hall on 9 September 2012.
kids’ philharmonic@sg strongly believes in the educational benefits of playing in an orchestra. Student musicians have the opportunity to work together as a group, developing teamwork and leadership in the process. In doing so, all musicians learn to play in tandem with the others, hitting the same notes at the same time, while observing standardised tempo, dynamics, and bowing. Through it all, it instills a high level of discipline in its members.
Handles contracts with musicians, venues, and vendors. And also helps manage rehearsals, event logistics, and operations personnel.
